StagedRight are a Carlisle based company with more than 35 years experience in the entertainment industry. Each week, StagedRight works with almost 180 young people in their luxury studios in the heart of Carlisle.

The company enables young people aged four to 18 to experience and learn the arts whilst providing opportunities to showcase their talents through staged performances. As well as learning how to sing, dance and act, students also develop important life skills, learning how to interact with others, building their confidence and making lifelong friends. The organisation also has an enviable reputation for the development of students, making it is a great springboard  for those who wish to perform or work in the professional world.

The Lanes is committed to supporting the local community and recognises the importance of clubs and groups like StagedRight, and helping them to remain accessible to young people. A sentiment which is echoed by The Lanes’ Centre Manager, Mark Nott “We are delighted to be able to continue this partnership with StagedRight and celebrate the local talent we have within our city. Following the recent lockdowns and restrictions on society, there has never been a more important time to support local community groups and clubs. Not only does StagedRight enable young people to enjoy and grow their theatrical skills, it also helps youngsters to socialise with their peers and develop key life skills.”

“The high quality of the performances delivered by StagedRight never ceases to amaze me and many of the team here at The Lanes regularly attend their shows. We look forward to welcoming StagedRight back to perform at the centre soon, to enable those who are unfamiliar with their quality and talent a chance to sample it for themselves.”

StagedRight’s upcoming performances include Matlida, performed by the StagedRight juniors in their studio this June, which is sold out. This is followed by the presentation of their own ‘West End’ styled production, and this year, audiences can look forward to enjoying Phantom of the Opera, accompanied by a full orchestra, professional stage sets and spectacular costumes. It will be performed at The Sands Centre on 8th and 9th July. Tickets are available now.

Some of the performers will be joining us here at The Lanes on Saturday 25th June to showcase some of the talent and present a sneak peak of what you can expect from the show.

We are thrilled to bring this free play area (formally known as Park in the City) back to the centre. The Stay and Play area provides a safe and fun environment for children to play when visiting us.

This free play area is open every day between 10am – 4pm and contains a selection of toys and games for children to enjoy. The play area is suitable for children up to the age of 7 and children must be supervised at all times.
To ensure the safety and enjoyment of the space for all those who use it, we ask that visitors adhere to the guidance which is clearly displayed at the entrance to the play area.

Stay and Play has been sponsored by Muffin Break, so we want to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to them for their support which has helped us to bring this initiative back for 2022.

We had a great time on Saturday 4th June to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

There was plenty of free crafts for families to enjoy, including Union Jack windmills, crown making and decorating, Jubilee themed sun catchers and book marks.

We were also joined by Union Jack themed performers and entertainers.

Thanks to everyone who joined us and helped make it such a fantastic day. We look forward to seeing you at our next event.

Multicultural Cumbria  joined us at The Lanes on 1st, 2nd and 3rd June 2022 as part of the Jubilee Celebrations with a series of workshops and craft activities.
